Fenerbahçe, which finished second in the Süper Lig in 2012–13, thus missed-out on the 2013–14 Champions League, which it had been due to enter in the third qualifying round Fenerbahçe finished the 2014–15 season as runners-up, forcing the board of directors to undertake some major changes.
